Board Certification

Dr. Kacmarski is board-certified by the American Board of Profession Psychology (ABPP) in the practice of Clinical Neuropsychology.

Board certification signifies that a psychologist has achieved expertise in a specific specialty area, providing assurance that the psychologist is qualified to deliver high-quality care and services. It also demonstrates a commitment to advanced knowledge and clinical skills beyond those required for a basic psychology license. The board certification process involves a rigorous evaluation of a psychologist’s knowledge and skills and includes a comprehensive review of training experience, the completion of a written examination, a review of work samples by other board-certified neuropsychologists, and a comprehensive oral examination.

Unfortunately, it is all too common for non-neuropsychologists to offer neuropsychological assessment services in their practice. Because any psychologist can refer to themselves as a “neuropsychologist,” this often creates confusion for clients in search of high-quality care. Board certification provides assurance that the neuropsychologist you choose to work with has proven themselves capable of handling complex cases and has demonstrated a commitment to professional excellence.
